Francis Andre is a wardrobe stylist and image consultant. Living in NYC all his life he grew to love fashion at a young age , and from there he started to learn the trade of garment construction as well as style and style illustration. He later found out that he had a love for Fashion and Nightlife public relations. He currently works as Nightlife & Style Public Relations Director at New York Costumes. He implements his style and NYC club kid nightlife knowledge into his work with the media team at New York Costumes.
Stay tuned for costume and fashion blogging from Francis. And if you haven't already seen his first video blog for New York Costumes, you can view it here: "Opulence" at New York Costumes.
June 30, 2009
Fashion-conscious Francis takes a swing through Halloween Adventure's New York Costumes store in the East Village, NYC. He talks with floor staff and his viewers about what he would wear to a creative "Opulence" theme party.
Watch in High Quality mode to get a good look at all of the goodies in the background.
We took a swing through our New York Costumes store today and asked our floor staff to show show off one of the newest costume items. This is what they had to share:
The Halo 3 "Supreme Edition" Master Chief full suit and helmet. This is a full head helmet and armor-like suit. A hardcore costume item.
From there, we looked at several other Halo 3 Master Chief items:
The Master Chief Simple Helmet (front piece only) The Master Chief Simple Costume (soft material) The Master Chief Deluxe Helmet (front and back pieces) The Master Chief Deluxe Helmet with working "searchlights"
The Mermaid Parade is coming to Coney Island on June 20, 2009. We of New York Costumes fully encourage boisterous and colorful celebration for this huge annual sea-themed event.
We just received a massive shipment of plastic sea critters, crabs, plastic seagulls, lobsters, and other crustaceans all of which will be splendid accessories for Mermaid Parade outfits, floats, and revelry.
In addition to our plastic sea creatures, we've got lobster hats, lobster puppets, Hawaiian style leis, costume tridents, plastic starfish, fancy fish, realistic -looking fish, strings of plastic muscle shells, and bendable octopus props.
New York Costumes is the block-long costume store in the East Village of Manhattan (at 104 4th Ave). Location-wise, we are 11th street, if 11th street continued on through our block. But instead of 11th street joining 4th Ave and Broadway, we do.
Most local New York City costume community people know us as "Halloween Adventure," and they then wonder where the "New York Costumes" element fits in. New York Costumes is our subtitle to differentiate us from other Halloween Adventure stores, such as our sister store in Times Square, Masquerade Costumes (311 W 43rd street).
When you see "New York Costumes," you can know that that refers to NYC's original Halloween Adventure store in the East Village, going strong for over 20 years.
New in at New York Costumes / Halloween Adventure in the East Village are several fine make-up products from Wolfe Face Art & FX. Wolfe FX is "known for its unique products and cutting-edge application techniques" (cited from Wolfe FX website).
This entry will cover two new types of Wolfe FX products we have in stock: the Wolfe Hydrocolor Makeup Appetizer palettes and the FX Silicone prosthetic material.
We at New York Costumes, now have several types of the Wolfe Hydrocolor Makeup Appetizer palettes:
Also in stock is the FX Silicone prosthetic material. Wolfe FX reports that this product is a medically safe silicone prosthetic material that is composed of platinum silicone. It cures in less than 5 minutes and can be painted with "almost anything." It can be removed, cleaned, and reused for reapplication. It can be cast in almost any mold. And it will not break down.
Visit us at 104 4th Ave in New York City to see our new Wolfe FX products with your own two eyes. Our make-up department sales representatives would be more than pleased to tell you all about their enthusiasm for the silicone FX material!
